Tehran (HRNW)- Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has said that Iran prefers negotiations and diplomacy over war to safeguard its rights and resolve disputes, while stressing that Tehran will not surrender to force or pressure.
According to media reports, President Pezeshkian said Iran would defend its national rights and sovereignty but would not close the door to diplomatic engagement.
He said Iran does not seek war or military confrontation and prefers to resolve outstanding issues through negotiations and dialogue.
According to the Iranian president, negotiations can only be effective when they are conducted without threats, pressure, or unilateral demands. He emphasized that Iran would not compromise on its national rights and sovereignty.
Pezeshkian’s remarks come as diplomatic contacts between Iran and the United States continue over efforts to end the ongoing conflict and establish arrangements concerning the Strait of Hormuz.
Political observers say the statement could signal Tehran’s willingness to pursue a diplomatic solution while maintaining its position on national sovereignty and its broader strategic interests.
