Paris (HRNW): U.S. President Donald Trump has said that it would be unfair to prevent Iran from possessing ballistic missiles if other countries are allowed to have them.
Speaking to reporters in Paris, Trump stated, “If other countries have them, then it is somewhat unfair for Iran not to have them.”
He added that if countries such as Saudi Arabia and Qatar possess ballistic missiles, it is acceptable for Iran to maintain a proportionate missile capability as well.
Trump also said that despite the end of the nearly four-month conflict with Iran, the United States will maintain its military presence in the Gulf region for some time to help preserve regional stability.
