Lahore (HRNW)- Punjab Police is expected to receive a budget of Rs239 billion for the next financial year, significantly lower than the Rs330 billion it had requested from the Punjab government. According to sources, around 80 percent of the allocated funds will be spent on salaries and other recurring expenses, while Rs9 billion has been proposed for the newly established digital wing and Rs6 billion for ongoing development projects. Several new development schemes, including police stations and training centers, are likely to be postponed due to limited resources. The police department had also sought substantial funds to cover rising fuel and operational costs.
