Pakistan Railways Achieves Record Revenue of Over 1 Billion PKR During Eid Week

LAHORE (HRNW): Pakistan Railways has reached a significant financial milestone by generating record-breaking revenue from passenger train operations during the three days of Eid-ul-Fitr. According to official railway sources, the department earned 110 million PKR on the first day, 170 million PKR on the second, and over 200 million PKR on the third day of the festive period.

Data indicates that over the past week alone, Pakistan Railways accumulated more than 1 billion PKR in revenue solely from passenger services—an achievement being hailed as one of the most successful periods in the institution’s history.

Strategic Infrastructure and Policy Success

Federal Minister for Railways Mohammad Hanif Abbasi congratulated the railway administration, attributing this record income to positive policy shifts and enhanced administrative measures. The Minister issued directives to further accelerate improvements in passenger facilities, emphasizing that high-quality service and a robust track system are fundamental rights of the commuters.

  • Track Upgradation: Minister Abbasi announced a major infrastructure project to completely upgrade the railway track from Karachi to Rohri within the next three years.
