Islamabad (HRNW)- In view of the growing security concerns, the United States has issued instructions to recall its non-emergency diplomatic staff stationed in Pakistan.
According to a statement issued by the US Embassy, non-essential and non-emergency staff of the US Consulates in Lahore and Karachi have been ordered to leave Pakistan immediately. However, the statement clarified that there has been no change in the current status and normal activities of the US Embassy in Islamabad.
The US Embassy says that due to the increasing tension between the US and Iran, there are concerns about drone and missile attacks in the region, in the context of which this precautionary measure has been taken to ensure the safety of diplomatic staff.
The statement further said that the situation is being continuously reviewed and further decisions may be made according to the security situation. US citizens have also been advised to monitor local conditions and avoid unnecessary movement.
