Bolan Mail Suspended Indefinitely Between Quetta and Karachi

QUETTA (HRNW): Railway authorities have announced the indefinite suspension of the Bolan Mail, the primary passenger train service connecting Quetta and Karachi. According to Pakistan Railways officials, the train, which was scheduled to depart from Karachi yesterday and arrive in Quetta today, has been grounded until further notice.

The official reason cited for the suspension is a significant decline in passenger occupancy. While train services in Balochistan have faced intermittent disruptions throughout February due to regional security concerns, this latest move is being attributed to operational viability.

Railway authorities have advised passengers who booked their tickets through the online portal to cancel their reservations to receive a full refund. Those with physical tickets can also approach railway reservation counters for reimbursements. No timeline has been provided for the resumption of the service, as officials state they are currently monitoring the situation.
