Tehran (HRNW): Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has stated that decisions regarding war and negotiations are the responsibility of the country’s supreme leadership and national security institutions, emphasizing that all political and social groups should support and follow those decisions.
Speaking during a meeting with Iranian media managers, President Pezeshkian said that decisions on war and diplomacy are entrusted to the Supreme Leader and the Supreme National Security Council, and that all factions should commit themselves to respecting and implementing policies adopted in the national interest.
He noted that the government is simultaneously working to improve people’s livelihoods, strengthen national power, and expand regional relations. According to the president, Iran can overcome current challenges through domestic unity, active diplomacy, and economic reforms.
Pezeshkian also stressed that views occasionally expressed in national media regarding war or negotiations do not necessarily reflect the official positions of the Supreme National Security Council, the Supreme Defense Council, or the Supreme Leader’s guidance.
Addressing economic concerns, the president said that his primary concern is Iran and its people. He added that it is unacceptable for him to hold public office while a segment of society continues to face severe economic hardship and struggles to meet basic living needs.
The Iranian president further stated that he has never doubted the importance of hard work and public service. He remarked that if, at any point, he believed he could help solve the country’s problems and serve its people effectively, he would be willing to continue contributing in that role.
