Rahul Gandhi Alleges Major Corruption in Nicobar Project, Targets Modi-Adani Nexus

New Delhi (HRNW)-Indian opposition leader Rahul Gandhi has accused the Modi government and the Adani Group of involvement in a major corruption scheme, alleging large-scale environmental destruction and financial irregularities in the Nicobar Islands project. He claimed that around 160 square kilometers of forest area on the island is being cleared to serve private business interests.

Rahul Gandhi stated that timber and natural resources from the Nicobar region are worth billions in rupees and are being “openly exploited,” calling it one of the biggest scams in India’s history.

Indian media outlet Scroll.in has also reported on the controversy, highlighting concerns over alleged irregularities in the ₹81,000 crore Nicobar development project, which includes plans for a new township, power plants, and related infrastructure developments.
