Kunar (HRNW)- Reports indicate that the group referred to as Fitna al-Khawarij is operating from safe havens on Afghan soil and allegedly has the ability to infiltrate into Pakistan, raising security concerns along the border regions. According to claims, the Afghan Taliban are reportedly using the group as a “strategic asset” against Pakistan, although these assertions have not been independently verified.
A video circulating on social media shows Abdul Hamid Khorasani, identified as a commander of the group, issuing threats of attacks against Pakistan from Afghanistan’s Kunar province. In the video message, he claims that a large number of fighters are currently present in the area and awaiting orders for operations.
He further states that it is the duty of all affiliated fighters and the local population to support the leadership in Afghanistan.
According to analysts cited in the report, the alignment of such groups with directives attributed to the Afghan Taliban suggests a coordinated relationship, raising concerns about regional security and cross-border militancy.
