Consumer Protection Court South imposes fine on internet service provider in poor service case

Karachi (HRNW)- The Consumer Protection Court South Karachi has issued a verdict in a case concerning the provision of poor internet services, imposing penalties on a private internet service provider.

The court ordered the company to pay Rs. 50,000 as compensation to the affected consumer.

In addition, the court directed the company to deposit a fine of Rs. 5,000 into the national treasury.

The court further instructed the internet service provider to improve its services and ensure uninterrupted internet connectivity for consumers.

The petitioner, Khalique Ahmed, stated that due to the unavailability of internet services, he faced serious difficulties in carrying out his professional work.

He further added that the poor service caused him mental distress and significant inconvenience.

After hearing arguments from both sides, the court held the company responsible and ruled in favour of the consumer.
