Islamabad (HRNW): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced that a peace agreement has been reached between the United States and Iran following extensive negotiations.
In a post on social media, the Prime Minister stated that after long and important talks, both sides have agreed to a comprehensive peace deal aimed at ending hostilities and reducing tensions.
According to the announcement, the formal signing ceremony of the agreement is scheduled to take place on 19 June in Switzerland.
The Prime Minister also praised the diplomatic roles of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye, stating that their mediation efforts were instrumental in facilitating dialogue between the two sides.
He added that the agreement includes provisions for the immediate and permanent cessation of military operations across all fronts, including other regional theaters such as Lebanon.
Shehbaz Sharif further expressed gratitude to both the United States and Iran for choosing diplomacy over conflict, saying that the deal represents an important step toward regional stability.
He also acknowledged Qatar’s continued mediation efforts, describing the country’s role as crucial in helping bring the parties to the agreement. He added that follow-up meetings will be facilitated this week, which will lay the groundwork for technical discussions and the official signing ceremony.
