Rs300 Million Looted from Cash Van in Karachi’s Federal B Area, Security Company Official Suspected

Karachi (HRNW)- A major cash van robbery involving approximately Rs300 million has been reported in Karachi’s Federal B Area, with police suspecting the involvement of a security company official in the incident.

According to police officials, the robbery was carried out under a well-planned operation. Initial investigations have raised serious suspicions regarding the role of the security company’s chief crew member, identified as Wajid.

SSP Central Dr. Imran Khan stated that the cash van had departed from Tariq Road to deliver money to a private bank. During the journey, the van staff stopped near Rizwan Park for tea when four armed suspects arrived and took control of the vehicle.

Police said the suspects drove the cash van to Altaf Pakwan Wali Street, where bags containing the cash were transferred to another vehicle before the suspects fled the scene. Investigators also discovered that the suspects had parked their getaway vehicle in a nearby alley before carrying out the robbery and had approached the scene on foot.

According to SSP Central, preliminary evidence suggests that chief crew member Wajid may have played a role in facilitating the robbery. Investigators believe he obtained the keys to the cash compartment from the guards and allegedly enabled access to the money. Police further stated that Wajid reportedly fled alongside the other suspects after the incident.

Following the robbery, Joharabad Police launched an investigation and collected evidence from the crime scene. Authorities are also reviewing CCTV footage from surrounding areas to identify and track down the suspects. Special investigation teams have been formed to arrest all individuals involved.

Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar has taken notice of the incident and sought an immediate report from SSP Central. He directed law enforcement agencies to expedite the investigation, arrest the suspects at the earliest opportunity, and ensure they are brought to justice.

Police officials say all aspects of the case are being thoroughly investigated, and efforts are underway to trace the suspects through available evidence and surveillance footage.
