Changsha (HRNW)- At least 26 people have been killed and 61 others injured in a powerful explosion at a fireworks manufacturing factory in central China, according to state news agency Xinhua. The blast occurred on Wednesday afternoon at a facility operated by Huasheng Fireworks Manufacturing and Display Co., Ltd. in Liuyang, a county-level city under Changsha administration, which is widely known as a major hub for fireworks production.
Changsha Mayor Chen Bozhang confirmed that search and rescue operations at the site have largely been completed. Authorities reported extensive damage, with several buildings collapsed or destroyed, while thick white smoke continued to rise from parts of the facility even after the explosion. Emergency teams were deployed immediately to control the situation and assist victims.
