Karachi (HRNW)- Gold prices witnessed a sharp increase in both global and local markets on Wednesday, pushing rates to new record levels.
In the international bullion market, the price of gold per ounce surged by $157, bringing the new global price to $4,814 per ounce.
Under the impact of the global rise, the price of 24-carat gold per tola in the local bullion markets of Karachi also increased by Rs15,700, reaching a new price of Rs504,162 per tola.
Similarly, the price of gold per 10 grams in the country rose by Rs13,460, taking it to Rs432,237.
Alongside gold, silver prices also moved upward. The price of silver per tola in the local market increased by Rs440 to Rs8,184, while the price of silver per 10 grams rose by Rs377 to Rs7,016.
