Report Claims Iranian Oil Tankers Crossed US Naval Blockade, Resuming Major Crude Exports

Tehran (HRNW)- A significant development has emerged regarding Iran’s oil exports, with an international oil-tracking organization claiming that several Iranian crude oil tankers have successfully passed through an area described as a US naval blockade, marking the country’s first major crude oil exports in nearly two months.

According to international media reports citing Tanker Trackers, a website specializing in monitoring global oil shipments, two Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs) belonging to the National Iranian Tanker Company — Diona and Hero 2 — have crossed the blockade zone and departed Gulf waters carrying Iranian crude oil.

The report stated that the two vessels were transporting a combined cargo of approximately 3.8 million barrels of crude oil. Tanker Trackers said its findings were based on digital shipping-tracking data and satellite imagery analysis.

In a subsequent update, the organization reported that a third tanker from the National Iranian Tanker Company had also passed through the same area, carrying an additional one million barrels of crude oil.

Energy analysts note that if the reports are confirmed, the development could represent an important boost for Iran’s economy, as the country’s oil exports have faced significant challenges in recent months amid tensions in the Strait of Hormuz and the wider Gulf region.

Market observers also point out that any sustained increase in Iranian crude exports could have implications for global oil supply and pricing, particularly at a time when international energy markets remain sensitive to geopolitical developments.

Neither US nor Iranian officials issued an immediate response to the specific claims. However, the reported movement of the tankers has attracted considerable attention across global energy markets and among industry analysts monitoring oil flows from the region.
