Karachi (HRNW): The East Zone Police, Gulistan-e-Johar, have arrested two suspects allegedly involved in street crime during a targeted operation near Pehlwan Goth, officials said on Sunday.
According to police, the arrested suspects have been identified as Rajab son of Nawab Somro and Imtiaz son of Nisar Ahmed Mangrio.
Authorities recovered an illegal pistol along with ammunition from their possession. Police also seized a motorcycle (Registration No. KMT-4375) which was taken into official custody for further verification.
Investigators said the suspects have reportedly confessed to multiple street crime incidents in different blocks of Gulistan-e-Johar and Pehlwan Goth areas.
FIRs have been registered against the arrested individuals under relevant provisions of law, while further investigation is underway.
Police officials further stated that details regarding the suspects’ previous criminal records are being collected and will be verified during the ongoing inquiry.
A police spokesperson confirmed that efforts are continuing to dismantle street crime networks operating in the area.
