Karachi (HRNW) – Police have expanded their investigation into the mysterious death of Karachi youth Mir Raza, collecting evidence and examining multiple aspects of the case.

According to police sources, Mir Raza left home at around 4:00 am on the night of the incident through an online taxi service. Police have obtained CCTV footage showing him arriving at his shop, where he allegedly took a pistol kept by the shop’s security guard from a drawer before leaving.

Police said that the guard normally left the pistol at the shop after duty hours, and the weapon is registered in the guard’s name.

According to the CCTV footage, Mir Raza was seen moving towards a nursery area with bushes and slightly elevated terrain near Gulistan Block-1, University Road, and he was alone at the time.

Police said Mir Raza’s iPhone was recovered from workers present on University Road. Investigators are preparing his route map and examining the case from different angles.

According to police, more than 50 mobile phone numbers are being checked, while statements of the online taxi driver, the deceased’s business partner, and other relevant individuals have already been recorded. Mir Raza’s fiancée has also been summoned to record her statement.

Initial findings suggest that Mir Raza suffered a single gunshot wound to the chest, which passed through his body and proved fatal. Police said the body had started decomposing, while blood samples have been collected for forensic analysis.

Police stated that the investigation is ongoing and further evidence will help clarify the circumstances surrounding the death.
