Kasur (HRNW) – Kasur Police have uncovered an alleged fake robbery and shooting staged by a young man to avoid handing over his Rs80,000 salary to his parents. The complainant and his three friends have been arrested, and the pistol allegedly used in the incident has been recovered.
According to police, a report was received through the Police Helpline 15 on the previous night stating that Adnan, a resident of Haveli Telianwali, had allegedly been abducted by four robbers, robbed of Rs80,000, and shot during the incident.
On the instructions of District Police Officer (DPO) Aftab Ahmed Phulrawan, DSP Afzal Dogar, SHO Ali Akbar, and a police team immediately reached the scene. However, before their arrival, the injured man had already been shifted to Jinnah Hospital, Lahore.
After inspecting the crime scene, investigators noticed inconsistencies in the reported incident and questioned Adnan’s friends.
During the investigation, three friends—Adeel, Adnan, and Chand—allegedly confessed that Adnan wanted to use his Rs80,000 salary to purchase a new mobile phone instead of giving the money to his parents. To support this plan, they allegedly staged a fake robbery, provided him with a pistol, and shot him in the calf before sending him to Jinnah Hospital to make the incident appear genuine.
Police have registered a criminal case against the injured man and his three friends. The pistol allegedly used in staging the incident has also been recovered.
DPO Aftab Ahmed Phulrawan commended the Raja Jang Police for exposing the alleged fake robbery. He also urged parents to remain aware of their children’s activities and maintain a supportive and open family environment to help prevent such incidents.
