Beijing (HRNW)- China has welcomed the initial progress in the negotiations between the United States and Iran, calling for the immediate reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and appreciating Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts in the process.
Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian said during a media briefing in Beijing that the Strait of Hormuz is a vital route for international maritime traffic and China hopes it will be fully reopened as soon as possible so that global trade and energy supplies can return to normal.
He described the agreement on the text of the preliminary memorandum of understanding between the US and Iran as a positive development and said that China welcomes this progress.
The spokesperson praised Pakistan’s role and said that Beijing appreciates Pakistan’s mediation and diplomatic efforts, which have played an important role in advancing the negotiation process between the two countries.
China stated that reducing tensions in the region and promoting dialogue will benefit not only the Middle East but also the global economy. Beijing once again urged all parties to resolve disputes through diplomacy and negotiations.
It should be noted that the Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most important shipping lanes, through which large quantities of oil and gas are transported globally. Any disruption to this route directly affects global energy markets and oil prices.
According to analysts, China’s statement reflects growing international support for diplomatic efforts aimed at ensuring lasting peace and maintaining uninterrupted energy supplies in the region.
