Islamabad (HRNW) – A meeting of the Judicial Commission of Pakistan has been called for June 11, with Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi set to preside over the session.
According to sources, the meeting will consider the approval of the Judicial Commission Rules, an important step in the process of judicial appointments.
A five-member Rules Making Committee, headed by Justice Aamir Farooq, was formed to draft proposals regarding the formulation of the new rules. The committee has completed its recommendations and submitted them for consideration.
Sources said the proposed rules also include the formation of a committee responsible for interviewing candidates seeking appointment as judges.
Following the approval of the Judicial Commission Rules, the process of appointing judges to the High Courts is expected to begin.
The meeting is being viewed as a significant development for strengthening the judicial appointment process and improving transparency in judicial affairs.
