Saudi Arabia Announces Strict Penalties for Unauthorized Hajj

Riyadh (HRNW)- The Saudi Arabian government has announced strict penalties for performing or attempting to perform Hajj without permission.

According to the Saudi Ministry of Interior, those who violate the permit issued for Hajj will be fined up to 20,000 riyals. Similarly, those who shelter or provide any kind of assistance to illegal pilgrims will be fined up to 100,000 riyals.

The Ministry of Interior has clarified that these restrictions will be in effect from 1st Dhul-Qa’dah to 14th Dhul-Hijjah.

According to the announcement, action will also be taken against those who transport people coming on visit visas to Mecca or holy places. In addition, those who attempt to perform Hajj illegally will face deportation and a ban on entering Saudi Arabia for 10 years.

Officials say that these measures are aimed at streamlining Hajj arrangements and ensuring the safety of pilgrims.
