Karachi (HRNW): Sindh Minister for Information and Transport Sharjeel Inam Memon has announced a major expansion of the city’s public transport system, stating that a large number of double-decker and electric (EV) buses will arrive in Karachi this year.
He said the new buses will be introduced gradually on different routes across the city as part of the provincial government’s efforts to modernize public transportation.
Sharjeel Inam Memon stated that the Sindh government is working rapidly on its vision to transform the public transport system on modern lines. He added that following the success of the Peoples Bus Service, the fleet is now being expanded further with advanced vehicles.
According to him, EV buses will be environmentally friendly and will provide citizens with affordable, comfortable, and efficient travel facilities. He further said that double-decker buses will enhance the city’s transport culture and add to Karachi’s visual appeal.
The minister emphasized that the initiative is not just about increasing the number of buses, but represents a step toward a modern, developed, and environmentally cleaner Karachi.
