Ahmedabad (HRNW): Indian customs authorities have foiled a major attempt to smuggle gold through a passenger aircraft.
According to Indian media reports, customs officials at Ahmedabad Airport recovered approximately 2.8 kilograms of gold hidden inside the speaker system of an IndiGo Airlines aircraft arriving from Dubai.
Authorities stated that the recovered gold is valued at over 40 million Indian rupees.
Custom officials have launched an investigation to identify those involved and to determine whether a wider smuggling network is operating behind the attempt.
