Islamabad (HRNW) – The federal government has issued an important directive regarding foreign citizenship disclosures for government employees, making it mandatory for all public servants to submit a formal declaration at the time of appointment and annually thereafter.
According to the Establishment Division, government employees will be required to provide complete details regarding their own foreign citizenship status as well as that of their dependents, including their spouse and children.
The directive further states that if, at any stage, it is discovered that an employee concealed or misrepresented information related to foreign citizenship, the individual’s appointment may be declared null and void, and disciplinary action, including dismissal from service, may be taken.
The Establishment Division said the objective of the policy is to enhance transparency within government institutions and ensure that authorities have accurate information about individuals serving in sensitive positions.
Instructions for the immediate implementation of the new requirements have also been issued to the relevant departments and institutions.
