KARACHI (HRNW): The Sindh High Court conducted a hearing on a petition seeking the recovery of Shafiullah Lashari, a citizen who went missing from Karachi Airport. During the proceedings, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) submitted its written reply before the court.
In its submission, the FIA categorically denied the allegations, stating that Shafiullah Lashari is not in its custody, nor has he been arrested by the agency.
During the hearing, the petitioner’s counsel informed the court that Shafiullah Lashari had been working in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, since 2023. He arrived at Karachi Airport from Jeddah on April 19, 2026, where he was allegedly picked up from the airport premises. Expressing deep concern, the counsel emphasized that more than two months have passed, yet nothing is known about the missing citizen’s whereabouts.
Taking the FIA’s response on record, the high court directed police authorities to take immediate and concrete measures for the safe recovery of Shafiullah Lashari. Subsequently, the court adjourned the hearing of the case for two weeks.
