Bhakkar (HRNW)- A once-barren area in Bhakkar has been transformed into a modern agricultural and export hub under the Green Pakistan Initiative, marking significant progress toward innovation, export growth, and self-sufficiency in Pakistan’s agriculture sector. According to CEO Pantera Limited Furqan Ali Akhtar, a state-of-the-art 1,800-acre agricultural farm was successfully developed in just 60 days, setting a new benchmark in rapid agricultural development.
He stated that irrigation at the farm is being maintained through 13 central pivot irrigation systems supported by a 2.4 MW hybrid solar energy system, ensuring sustainable and efficient farming practices. Chief Operating Officer of Pantera Farms Farooq Saeed explained that only four months ago, the land was covered with 20 to 50-foot-high sand dunes, which were converted into cultivable farmland within a short period. Of the total 1,800 acres, 1,300 acres are now under cultivation, producing wheat and Rhodes grass, with Rhodes grass also being exported internationally.
Farooq Saeed credited the success of the project to the full support, infrastructure assistance, and timely problem-solving provided under the Green Pakistan Initiative. He added that Green Agri Mall has ensured transparent and timely supply of quality seeds, fertilizers, and agricultural inputs, while Pakistan’s first hybrid seeds have also been introduced in partnership with Chinese companies under the initiative.
