Islamabad (HRNW)- Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited and Sui Southern Gas Company have submitted formal applications to the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority for an increase in gas prices from the new financial year.
According to the details, Sui Southern Gas Company has requested an increase of Rs 5306 per MMBTU in the average price of gas, while Sui Northern has proposed an increase of Rs 29 per MMBTU.
The applications have taken the position that by including the expenses of the next financial year and the shortfall of previous financial years, a total financial loss of Rs 1650 billion has been estimated.
According to OGRA sources, the applications will be reviewed in detail and a final decision regarding the increase in gas prices will be taken after public hearings.
