Islamabad (HRNW)- The Election Commission of Pakistan has issued a schedule for delimitation (demarcation) for the local government elections in Punjab.
According to the Election Commission, the delimitation process of union councils in Punjab will be completed by August 10. Instructions have also been issued to complete the preparation of delimitation under the Punjab Local Government Act.
According to the announcement, the initial administrative stages of delimitation will be completed by April 16, while the list of initial delimitation will be issued between April 20 and 21.
The Election Commission says that objections to delimitation can be filed from May 26 to June 23, on which the hearing and decision process will continue.
It has been further informed that public objections will be disposed of by July 22, while the delimitation committees have been directed to complete their reports by August 4.
According to the Election Commission, the final list of union councils in Punjab will be released by August 10, 2026, after which the path will be paved for the next phase of local government elections.
