Hangu (HRNW)- One policeman was martyred and four others were injured in a firing incident on police personnel guarding an anti-polio team.
According to SDPO Mujahid Hussain, the incident took place in the Chapri Waziran area of Hangu, where a police van posted for the security of the polio team was targeted. A total of five policemen were injured in the firing.
He said that all the injured personnel were immediately shifted to the hospital, however, one officer succumbed to his injuries, while the others are undergoing treatment.
Security has been tightened in the area after the incident and a search operation is underway to find the attackers.
