Multan (HRNW) – The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration authorities have claimed to have foiled an attempt to illegally send a woman to Europe through unauthorized routes and launched an investigation against an alleged international human trafficking network.
According to the FIA spokesperson, a female passenger named Saira Naheed was travelling to Turkey on a visit visa through flight number FZ340 when she was found suspicious during immigration clearance at Multan International Airport.
During the initial inquiry, the passenger allegedly revealed that she was planning to travel from Turkey to Italy through an illegal route. FIA officials stated that she was in contact with an alleged agent based in Faisalabad, who had promised to send her to Italy in exchange for money.
According to FIA officials, the agent allegedly took Rs. 1 million as an advance payment from the woman, while the remaining amount was to be paid after her arrival in Italy.
The FIA stated that after reaching Turkey, the woman was allegedly supposed to be received by other members of the trafficking network, who would then facilitate an illegal border crossing to Italy.
The passenger was offloaded and handed over to the FIA Anti-Human Trafficking Circle Multan for further investigation and legal proceedings.
The FIA spokesperson said further investigations are underway against the alleged agent and the wider network to identify and take action against other individuals involved in human trafficking activities.
