Karachi (HRNW)- The Town Municipal Corporation Manghopir held an important and special meeting under the chairmanship of Chairman Haji Nawaz Ali Brohi. The meeting was attended by Municipal Commissioner Agha Khaliq, Vice Chairman Rana Muhammad Arif, honorable members of the Council, concerned Town officers, representatives of the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board, Traffic Police, Police officials, Rescue representatives, and prominent religious scholars from different schools of thought.
The meeting reviewed in detail the arrangements for Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH), including religious processions, Milad gatherings, cleanliness, security, traffic management, emergency preparedness, relief measures in view of the ongoing heatwave, and effective coordination among all concerned departments. A comprehensive action plan was formulated to ensure that the public receives the best possible facilities during the religious events.
Addressing the meeting, Chairman Haji Nawaz Ali Brohi stated that Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) is a sacred occasion of love, devotion, and reverence for Muslims. Therefore, providing the best municipal services during all processions and religious gatherings within Manghopir Town is our foremost responsibility. He directed all concerned departments to work in close coordination and perform their duties professionally to ensure that the public faces no inconvenience.
The Chairman instructed Town officials to make exceptional arrangements for cleanliness along procession routes, mosques, Milad venues, and major roads. He directed that garbage be removed promptly, drains and sewerage lines be cleaned, drainage systems improved, roads cleared, and streetlights made fully functional to provide a clean, safe, and comfortable environment.
He also directed the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board to deploy additional machinery, vehicles, and sanitation staff so that cleanliness operations continue efficiently before, during, and after the processions.
Considering the prevailing heatwave, the Chairman further instructed officials to establish water camps and relief camps equipped with cold drinking water and water coolers along procession routes and at important locations to facilitate participants, volunteers, and the general public. He emphasized that protecting human lives remains the highest priority and that no negligence will be tolerated.
Police and Traffic Police officials briefed the meeting on the security and traffic management plan and assured full cooperation to maintain law and order, ensure smooth traffic flow, and provide maximum convenience to the public during the events.
Representatives of the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board and other relevant departments also briefed the participants on their preparedness and reaffirmed their commitment to working in complete coordination to ensure the successful, peaceful, and disciplined observance of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH).
Religious scholars from different schools of thought highlighted the importance of religious harmony, peace, brotherhood, and mutual respect. They appreciated the efforts of the Town administration and assured their full cooperation.
Council members also presented valuable suggestions for improving public services, strengthening the sanitation system, ensuring smooth traffic flow, providing clean drinking water, and enhancing municipal services. The Chairman appreciated these recommendations and directed the concerned officers to ensure their prompt implementation.
At the conclusion of the meeting, all participants reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring peace, religious harmony, cleanliness, foolproof security, efficient traffic management, and the provision of civic facilities during Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH). All departments pledged to work together in close coordination to provide a peaceful, safe, and well-organized environment for devotees to observe the occasion with dignity and devotion.
