Karachi (HRNW) – Karachi District Central Police have claimed to have solved the case of the death of three-year-old Farwa in FC Area, Raees Amrohvi Colony, Sherifabad, within hours of the incident, concluding that the initial claim of a fatal shooting during a robbery attempt was false.
According to SSP District Central Dr. Muhammad Imran Khan, the child’s father, Muhammad Rehman, initially reported that unidentified robbers opened fire during a robbery attempt, causing the death of his daughter. However, police investigators found inconsistencies in the account after no bloodstains or spent bullet casings were recovered from the alleged crime scene, and the exact location of the incident was not identified to investigators.
Police further stated that the child’s body was taken from Abbasi Shaheed Hospital without undergoing a post-mortem examination. Investigators also noted significant contradictions in the statements provided by family members, prompting a detailed investigation.
According to the police investigation, the child was accidentally shot by her father while he was cleaning his rifle at home. Police allege that the firearm discharged accidentally, fatally injuring the child.
Authorities further claimed that, in an attempt to avoid arrest, the suspect fabricated a robbery story and tried to mislead law enforcement agencies regarding the circumstances of the incident.
Police have arrested Muhammad Rehman and recovered the alleged murder weapon—a rifle—as well as bloodstained clothing that investigators say the suspect changed after the incident. Further legal proceedings are underway.
