Sahiwal (HRNW) – The Punjab Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has claimed to have foiled an alleged major terror plot targeting Sahiwal and Okara, arresting two suspects whom authorities allege are linked to India’s external intelligence agency, the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW).
According to CTD Punjab officials, the operation was carried out in Sahiwal following intelligence-based information. The arrested suspects were identified as Abdul Aziz and Wilayat Shah, both residents of Peshawar.
Police stated that the suspects were allegedly found in possession of approximately 4 kilograms of explosives, three improvised explosive devices (IEDs), three Kalashnikov rifles, cash, and other materials allegedly intended for terrorist activities.
CTD officials alleged that the suspects were planning terrorist attacks in Sahiwal and Okara, but the operation successfully disrupted the alleged plot before it could be carried out. Authorities have taken the recovered items into custody and launched further investigations.
The claims made by the CTD could not be independently verified at the time of publication. No statement had been issued by the accused or by Indian authorities regarding the allegations.
