Lahore (HRNW) – A suspect has been arrested after allegedly sexually harassing a woman who was standing at the entrance of her home in Lahore’s Shad Bagh area, according to police officials.
Police said that Shad Bagh Police Station registered a case immediately after the incident. To identify and trace the suspect, investigators analyzed CCTV footage from the area.
According to SP City Atif Ameer, the CCTV footage allegedly shows the suspect harassing the woman before fleeing the scene. Police subsequently launched raids to apprehend the individual.
Officials stated that when police attempted to arrest the suspect, he fled on a motorcycle. During a subsequent attempt to stop him at a police checkpoint, the suspect allegedly ignored signals to stop and continued his escape.
Police said the suspect lost control of his motorcycle due to excessive speed, fell from a bridge, and was taken into custody in an injured condition.
The suspect was identified as Usman Masih. According to police, he sustained an arm injury and was shifted to a hospital for medical treatment. Authorities said the investigation is ongoing.
