Tehran/Riyadh (HRNW)- Iran and Saudi Arabia have issued fresh statements against each other amid rising tensions in the Middle East.
Iran has strongly condemned the US and Saudi attacks in Iraq, while Saudi Arabia has called Iran’s attacks on Jordan a violation of international law.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry said in a statement issued on Thursday that the attacks by the US and Saudi Arabia in Iraq are a clear violation of Iraqi sovereignty, territorial integrity and the UN Charter.
According to the statement, the attacks also targeted sites that Iran described as being connected to Iraqi government institutions and resting places set up to serve Arbaeen pilgrims.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry described the actions as “criminal, inhumane and provocative,” saying they were aimed at further widening the conflict in the region. The ministry expressed condolences to the families of the Iraqi citizens killed in the attacks and reaffirmed its solidarity with the Iraqi government and people.
On the other hand, the Saudi Foreign Ministry strongly condemned Iran’s attacks on Jordan, saying the actions violate international law and the principles of good neighborliness.
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Saudi Arabia expressed full solidarity with Jordan and said the Kingdom supports every step taken to safeguard Jordan’s security and stability.
The Saudi Foreign Ministry urged Iran to immediately stop attacks on Jordan and other countries in the region and avoid actions that could further undermine peace and stability in the Middle East.
According to political observers, the latest developments involving Iran, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Jordan indicate that regional tensions are becoming increasingly complex, highlighting the growing need for diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation.
