Gaza City (HRNW)- A senior Hamas official has claimed that the organization has agreed to the Peace Board’s proposed plan for the complete disarmament of Gaza, with an official statement expected to be issued soon.
According to the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), a senior Hamas leader said the organization has accepted the proposed plan and that an official statement outlining the details of the agreement will be released shortly.
The official said an understanding has been reached regarding the phased surrender of weapons and the gradual withdrawal of Israeli troops from Gaza.
He added that there is hope the mediators and the Peace Board will ensure Israel’s commitment to implementing the agreement.
No official statement has yet been issued by Hamas, and there has been no immediate response from Israel or the mediating parties regarding the reported claims.
