Islamabad (HRNW) – The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has carried out multiple operations against cybercrime, arresting four suspected individuals from Lahore, Faisalabad, and Multan over allegations of online harassment, blackmail, and the unlawful sharing of private content.
According to NCCIA officials, Haroon Qureshi was arrested in Lahore for allegedly repeatedly harassing and threatening women online. In Faisalabad, two suspects, Abdul Rehman and Muhammad Ayaz, were taken into custody for allegedly blackmailing a married couple with objectionable material and extorting money from them.
Authorities stated that during the operation, two mobile phones, WhatsApp numbers, and alleged objectionable digital content involving multiple women were recovered. The seized material has been taken into custody as part of the ongoing investigation.
In a separate operation in Multan, Farhad Abbas was arrested for allegedly sharing a woman’s photographs and videos on social media and using them for blackmail.
NCCIA officials said that forensic examination of the recovered digital evidence is currently underway, while further investigations are being conducted to determine the full scope of the alleged offences.
The agency has urged citizens, particularly women, to immediately report incidents of online harassment, cyberbullying, blackmail, or other cybercrimes to the NCCIA so that prompt legal action can be taken.
