Lahore Braces for Widespread Rainfall as PDMA Issues Province-Wide Alert Until June 20

Lahore (HRNW)- Rains are set to begin across Punjab, including the provincial capital Lahore, as authorities issue alerts for citizens and farmers. A weather system bringing dust storms, strong winds, and rain has entered Pakistan, with light to heavy rainfall expected in various districts from today through June 20.

The minimum temperature in Lahore is expected to remain around 26°C, while the maximum may reach 39°C. According to the Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), rain is likely in Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Okara, Kasur, Sargodha, Bahawalpur, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal, and several other districts.

PDMA has also warned of possible urban flooding in Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Lahore, and Faisalabad. DG PDMA Umar Javed said alerts have been issued to commissioners and deputy commissioners across Punjab on the instructions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. Citizens have been advised to avoid open areas during thunderstorms, while farmers and tourists have been urged to take necessary precautions.
