Only Azad Kashmir Assembly Has Authority to Change Refugee Seats, Says Rana Sanaullah

Islamabad (HRNW)- Adviser to the Prime Minister on Interior Rana Sanaullah has said that only the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly has the constitutional authority to make changes regarding refugee seats.

Speaking to the media, Rana Sanaullah stated that with the Azad Kashmir elections approaching, the representatives elected by the people can make decisions within constitutional limits. However, he clarified that no administrative authority can increase or decrease the number of refugee seats.

He said that the Supreme Court of Azad Kashmir has already expressed its opinion on the matter, and any decision regarding refugee representation must be taken through the constitutional and legislative process.

Commenting on political developments, Rana Sanaullah said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s primary demand remains a meeting with its founder. He added that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi did not discuss any meeting with the PTI founder during their interaction.

According to Rana Sanaullah, the discussions with Sohail Afridi were limited to issues concerning Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and matters related to public welfare and governance.
