Muscat (HRNW)- A US military Apache helicopter crashed into the sea off the coast of Oman during heightened tensions in the Strait of Hormuz, prompting US authorities to launch an investigation into the incident.
According to the international news agency, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a statement that the accident occurred during a routine daily patrol mission.
The statement added that two personnel were on board the helicopter and were safely rescued from the sea within approximately two hours through a coordinated rescue operation.
US officials said both personnel are in stable condition and are receiving necessary medical assistance, while the helicopter sank into the sea.
