Lahore (HRNW)- The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced plans to hold a rally and protest at Minar-e-Pakistan on August 5, while also preparing an alternative strategy if permission is not granted by the district administration.
According to party sources, PTI is maintaining continuous communication with the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Lahore regarding its application seeking permission to hold the public gathering.
Sources said that if the administration grants approval, the rally will be held at Minar-e-Pakistan as planned. However, if permission is denied, the PTI Lahore leadership and party workers will gather at an alternative location in the city to stage a protest, where senior party leaders will also address participants.
According to PTI sources, Azadi Chowk, Bhati Chowk, Liberty Chowk and GPO Chowk are among the locations being considered for the alternative protest.
The party is expected to organize the protest at one of these sites, where a large number of workers will assemble and the leadership will deliver speeches.
Sources further said that PTI Members of the Provincial Assembly (MPAs) and party ticket holders will arrive at the protest venue in rallies from their respective constituencies.
According to party officials, the final decision will depend on the district administration’s response to the request for permission. If approval is granted, the rally will take place at Minar-e-Pakistan; otherwise, the party will hold its protest at an alternative location in Lahore.
