Saif-ul-Muluk Road Closed for Tourists Amid Heavy Rain and Cloudburst Alert

Balakot (HRNW)- In view of the heavy rains and cloudburst alert issued by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), the district administration has closed the road leading to Lake Saif-ul-Muluk for all types of traffic as a precautionary measure until further notice.

According to the announcement, intermittent rain continues in Balakot, Kaghan Valley, Naran, Lake Saif-ul-Muluk and surrounding areas. The decision has been taken to ensure the safety of tourists due to the risk of heavy rainfall and possible cloudbursts.

The district administration said that the Saif-ul-Muluk Road has been closed following the NDMA and PDMA alert and will remain closed for all types of traffic until the situation returns to normal.

It is worth mentioning that heavy rainfall on Thursday night caused a stream along the Saif-ul-Muluk Road to overflow, forcing the road to be closed. Later, machinery from the Kaghan Development Authority cleared the route and safely evacuated tourists who had been stranded in the area.
