Tehran (HRNW) – Iranian media reports have claimed that the funeral prayers and burial of former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei will be held after Ashura Muharram, with the final schedule yet to be officially announced.
According to reports, Iranian authorities have stated that the relevant committee will soon release detailed information regarding the funeral arrangements. Media outlets in Iran say that major political and religious developments followed the reported attack on Khamenei’s compound in Tehran, and preparations are now underway for his last rites after Ashura.
Reports further state that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi recently revealed that he was present at Khamenei’s office on the day of the attack but remained unharmed. The Iranian public and religious circles are reportedly awaiting an official announcement regarding the funeral prayer and burial ceremony.
