PM Shehbaz Sharif Reaffirms Commitment to Expanding Pakistan-China Economic Cooperation

Beijing (HRNW)- Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited the headquarters of IBI Corporation in Beijing, where he reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to further expand economic and technical cooperation with China.

Addressing a ceremony at the company headquarters, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of strengthening economic and trade cooperation between Pakistan and China, promoting bilateral trade and investment, and enhancing institutional linkages between the business communities of both countries.

He said that Pakistan will provide full support to Chinese companies to promote and expand their business operations and further strengthen economic, trade and technical ties between the two countries.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that he was pleased to host the IBI delegation in Islamabad a few weeks ago and assured them of providing all possible facilities to support the company’s business activities in Pakistan.

The Prime Minister stated that artificial intelligence and information technology are among the four major priorities of the government under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) 2.0, and work in these sectors is progressing rapidly.

Addressing the youth at the event, he said the government is taking broad measures to provide technical training and professional skills in various sectors because the youth are the future of Pakistan.

He further said that there are vast investment opportunities in the Special Economic Zones under CPEC 2.0 and invited Chinese investors to visit the first Special Economic Zone near Port Qasim in Karachi.

According to the Prime Minister, the project will span more than 6,000 acres and provide modern infrastructure and facilities for investors.

Earlier, upon arrival at IBI Corporation, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was welcomed by Wang Shaofeng, Party Secretary of Fengtai District, and Qian Xiaojun, President of IBI Corporation.

More than 150 companies and their representatives attended the thematic meeting on China-Pakistan Industrial Cooperation and Cross-Border Industrial Corridors.
