Islamabad (HRNW) – The Ministry of Petroleum and the Oil Tankers Association are scheduled to hold talks today to discuss issues related to the transportation of petroleum products and the implementation of the government’s new fuel pricing mechanism.
According to the Petroleum Division, a meeting chaired by the Federal Minister for Petroleum will be held with representatives of the Oil Tankers Association at 3:00 p.m. The meeting is expected to address concerns raised by the transport sector as well as government policy regarding petroleum supply and distribution.
The discussions come after the federal government announced a new pricing mechanism for petroleum products under which the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) will issue the ex-depot prices of petrol and high-speed diesel on a daily basis.
Under the new mechanism, OGRA will determine fuel prices based on the average international market prices of the previous seven days. Prices announced on Fridays will remain effective throughout Saturday and Sunday, unless otherwise notified.
The meeting is expected to focus on the impact of the revised pricing mechanism, fuel supply logistics, and operational concerns of the oil transport sector.
