Tehran (HRNW)- Iran has said that a consensus has been reached on several important points in the ongoing negotiations with the United States, but a final agreement is unlikely to be signed immediately.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baqai said in a media briefing that progress has been made on most of the issues in the negotiations, but this does not mean that an agreement will be reached immediately.
He clarified that the main goal of the negotiations at this time is to end the war, while detailed issues of the nuclear program are not being discussed at the moment.
He said that Iran is working on the best strategy to protect its national interests and will respond appropriately if necessary.
Esmail Baqai added that there is no guarantee regarding the Iran-US agreement that the United States will fulfill all its obligations, but Tehran does not care about pressure or threats.
