Washington (HRNW)- Regarding Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, American TV CBS News has claimed that he has the trust of both the US and Iranian leaderships and played an important role in bringing the Iran-US talks to the final stage.
According to a CBS News report, Field Marshal Asim Munir’s recent visit to Tehran has made a key breakthrough in the ongoing diplomatic efforts.
The report says that in the current situation in the Middle East, the Gulf countries and Lebanon are also part of the conflict; however, only Pakistan proved to be the country that was able to help finalize the draft of the proposed agreement.
According to the report, after Field Marshal Asim Munir’s return from Tehran, the draft of the proposed agreement was sent to the Iranian and American leadership for review.
The American TV claimed that complete coordination between Pakistan’s political and military leadership was the most important factor in this mediation process.
According to CBS News, US President Donald Trump has also described Field Marshal Asim Munir as “my favorite field marshal” in the past.
The report further stated that during the talks held in Islamabad, the Pakistani government and military leadership played an effective role in reducing tensions.
The report also reminded that Pakistan has played a role in establishing important international diplomatic relations in the past, especially Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts in restoring relations between the United States and China are of historical importance.
