China to Import $17 Billion in US Agricultural Goods Over Three Years in Major Trade Boost

Beijing/Washington (HRNW)- China has announced that it will purchase $17 billion worth of agricultural products from the United States over the next three years, marking what officials describe as a significant step forward in bilateral trade relations.

According to a fact sheet released by the White House in Washington, the commitment was made during a recent meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and US President Donald Trump.

The report states that China will import a range of American agricultural commodities over the next three years, including soybeans, grains, and other farm products. The White House clarified that this new $17 billion agreement is separate from a previous soybean purchase commitment made in October 2025.

The fact sheet also noted that China’s Foreign Ministry has agreed in principle to the establishment of a “US-China Board of Trade” and a “US-China Board of Investment” aimed at strengthening trade and investment cooperation between the two countries.

It is worth mentioning that President Trump recently stated after returning from China that “major trade agreements” had been finalized and that relations between Washington and Beijing were currently at an “excellent level.”

Experts believe the large-scale Chinese purchases could provide significant economic benefits to American farmers, while also potentially stabilizing and boosting global agricultural markets.
