Gwadar University VC, Pro VC Go Missing Near Mastung While Traveling to Quetta

Gwadar (HRNW)- A tragic incident involving the disappearance of top officials of Gwadar University has come to light after the university’s Vice Chancellor Dr. Abdul Razaq Sabir and Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Syed Manzoor Ahmed went missing while traveling from Gwadar to Quetta.

According to reports, both senior officials were traveling in a government vehicle on important official work when contact with them was lost near Mastung. Family sources and university administration said their mobile phones were switched off after entering the Mastung area, and no further communication could be established.

Regional sources fear that both officials may have been kidnapped along with the government vehicle. Deputy Commissioner Mastung Bahram Saleem confirmed that local administration and security agencies are actively working on the case and remain in close contact with the families.

A large-scale search operation has been launched in Mastung and surrounding areas, while checkpoints and roadblocks have also been established to trace the missing officials and the vehicle. So far, no ransom demand has reportedly been received.

Sources at Gwadar University said both Dr. Sabir and Dr. Manzoor Ahmed were playing a major role in the university’s development and educational reforms. Their disappearance has created deep concern among students, faculty members, and the academic community. Students have announced a peace march and prayer gathering for their safe recovery.

The Balochistan government and the Higher Education Commission have also taken notice of the incident, while the provincial education minister has directed authorities to conduct a transparent investigation and ensure the arrest of those responsible.
