Karachi (HRNW): The Government of Sindh has decided to release billions of rupees for education reforms and the rehabilitation of schools across the province.
According to the Sindh Finance Department, a total of over Rs 1.778 billion has been approved for the School Education Department.
Officials stated that under the European Union–funded education project DEEP, more than Rs 1.13 billion has been released for the second quarter.
Similarly, under the World Bank-funded education program ASPIRE, over Rs 646.1 million has been released for the third quarter.
The finance department said that a major portion of the released funds will be utilized for the reconstruction of flood-affected schools and improvement of the education system.
Strict instructions have been issued to the School Education Department to ensure transparent utilization of funds, prevent duplication of expenditures, and maintain strong monitoring mechanisms.
The department has also been directed that further disbursement of funds will be subject to the submission of utilization reports for the previously released amounts.
